I ordered an Alpha Foxtrot Romulus Comp, thoughts?

First off, I am a little nervous about it. They’re a new entry into the DS 1911 world, made in Georgia with a South Korean parent company. But I like the look of it a lot and I wanted a compensated model with an island comp. I didn’t want to go with a Prodigy or something below that price point, and I didn’t want to go as high as a Staccato XC. Buy once cry once, I know. This is my first step into the 2011 world.

I figure all companies get their start somewhere so I decided to give them a shot. Since they don’t seem to have a distributor and sell direct to customer and shop, I imagine the price stays down because of that. I also think that since they’re newer and building a reputation they’re putting more time and attention into each gun and have an interest in not delivering lemons. I hope.

From what I’ve read and seen on YouTube, they’re well fit, reliable, and great shooters. A lot of info comes from the non-comp version, but there are sources out there for the comp model. I saw only one bad review, but it appears that guy bent his extractor by over-inserting the magazine aggressively at slide lock. AF themselves claim the gun is fitted and tested after each order from them. And the wait time so far seems to indicate they’re not sending one they already had ready to go.

I plan on updating with initial thoughts after I get ahold of it. And then again after running ~500 rounds through it.

I’m excited, but apprehensive. I was curious what others with one think about it so far. Also curious what the community as a whole thinks about it.
