Do you believe that there is extraterrestrial life?
I do not come here to intentionally challenge anyone's faith, but I was curious about the Christian perspective on this. I saw a Christian music video that used a lot of images from space probes and the Hubble telescope, which led to me wondering what Christians think about space and stuff. I've heard some people say that all of space is a testament of God's creation meant to remind us of him. That made me wonder then, what is the point of all the celestial bodies that humans might never lay eyes on? Do you feel that your own theology has room for the existence of extraterrestrial life? If so, then what might their relationship with God be? Also, since the Second Coming of Christ and the end of the world is an important doctrine in Christianity, what is your perspective on what will happen to the Earth in the context of the wider universe? What about when the Sun inevitably explodes and destroys the Earth? Does this have any part in your eschatological views?
I know I left a lot of questions, but I do so solely out of curiosity. Feel free to respond to as many or as few as you'd like. Thanks!
