Rescue dog vomited: should I go to the vet?

Hi everybody,

Me and my partner have recently (on March 8th) adopted a 2-3 year old mixed dog (around 7kg) from the shelter. Since then, we changed his food and snacks after consulting the shelter, which he seemed to tolerate fine. Today he unexpectedly vomited (I’ll add a picture to this post). Other than that, his poop seems normal and I don’t notice anything about him that would be unusual. Today he had a longer walk where he was off-leash a bit, but my partner didn’t see that he would eat anything of the ground and that is not a behavior that he seems to do, at least not on any walks before.

Is this type of vomit a cause for concern and a rush to the vet, or should I just monitor him for a while? Should I feed him his evening meal?

Thank you for your help! It’s my first dog.
