4th subject for A-levels?

Lotta people on this sub seem bent on doing 4 a levels and it sounds like universities would love that. Do i need to though? At the college I applied to their recommended amount is 3, or taking 4 and dropping 1 after a year. I always thought doing 4 was a thing for like uber smart people, but now I'm not sure. I don't know if it's because the college I'm going to is an oversubscribed and reputable college?

Currently I wanna do Bio Chem and Maths in A levels and Biochemistry in university probably or go into something else medicine related. Does a 4th A level matter in this case?
