I don’t like the idea of Rhaena claiming Sheepstealer

Saw people talking about this on twitter and thought to bring it up here because I actually agree now that I’ve seen what other people have had to say about it.

Cutting Nettles is one thing, but putting a character that’s basically her opposite on Nettles’s dragon? Blasphemy! I know characters get cut or combined sometimes but this instance was obviously lazily done considering instead of her having an actual plot or character development, she was just running around all season. Like at least let her feed him sheep and build a bond with him or something like Nettles did. And what do you mean the Lady of the Vale never reported to the queen that a wild dragon was flying around? She seemed very unconcerned about this as if wild dragons aren’t more dangerous considering they answer to no one. Imagine if the Cannibal showed up to the Reach because he wanted to “range more broadly for food” I’m pretty sure the Tyrell’s would be both terrified and pissed.

Plus what if Sheepstealer doesn’t just stop at wild sheep and starts hunting on actual farm land? It’s one thing when he does it on Dragonstone because the farmers there are probably used to it, but the Vale isn’t technically Targaryen territory. Shouldn’t Rhaenyra or at least the crown be held responsible for any damages (or worse—death of actual people) he might cause?

Also, in season one when Daemon brought up the unclaimed wild dragons, he didn’t specifically name them. So if they wanted Rhaena to have a large dragon so bad, why not just make Morning a wild dragon in the show instead of completely cutting her existence out. At least that way Rhaena not only has her own canon dragon but the cutting of Nettles would feel more seamless than forced.

I understand people who say that Rhaena deserves a dragon, because of course she does. But she DOES have a dragon, her own dragon. But it’s important that hers doesn’t come until much later. She’s supposed to be pampered and fawned over, and more importantly—away from battle and bloodshed. It’s specified that she and Baela have completely opposite experiences during the Dance, and I think that would’ve been an interesting dynamic to see on screen.

I also just really wanted to see a pink dragon.
