All's well that ends bell

i've been sitting on this goddamn side quest for around 50 minutes now. i accidentally dropped one of the bells when i first started it and now it's just laying in the music room, unable for me to use wingardium leviosa (or anything else in that matter) with it. i've tried everything. i fast travelled countless times to a nearby location for the game to reset the bell location. i completely closed the game and started it again. nothing. this fucking thing just keeps laying there. i'll probably just abandon the quest but what the fuck?
