Can we get back to our alternate reality?

As I was driving earlier this evening, I was thinking about the current state of Maple Ridge in light of yesterday’s teen-on-teen Walmart stabbing, and other recent unfortunate events.

I compared our deteriorating city to Hill Valley, after Biff takes over the town in Back to the Future Part II, and everything just goes to Hell in a handbasket.

Moments after that thought, I pulled into the Value Village parking lot, to see this crushed, rusty oil drum just laying there, which really added to the metaphor.

I don’t see a positive future here for my children, and that’s really depressing and scary. 😣
