PCS'ing from JBLE to JBER (July) (PPM) (Mil-Mil)
My wife and I have orders to JBER and are currently planning on driving my car and a 26ft Long U-Haul in July. I'm looking for any advice along with some clarification on the following questions, despite my best attempts to decipher the JTR.
- With us being Mil-Mil, me being an E-6 and her an E-5, do we both get the single weight allowance or do would I get the dependent rate?
- How does per-diem work when 1/2 of your travels are through CONUS and the other 1/2 through Canada? Would we get the CONUS flat rate and then OCONUS Per-Diem rates in Canada depending on where we stop? Additionally are we both entitled to separate per-diems?
- We wanted to see if we could ship both of our dogs to my sister as she is currently stationed at JBER. That way we could take advantage of Pet Expenses being covered (Up to $2,000 for OCONUS) and avoid having them on this long road trip with us. Unfortunately we ran into the issue of realizing 1 of our dogs a (Malti-Poo) is able to be boarded by himself in the climate-controlled baggage compartment, but the other a (Shih-Tzu) is only able to be in-cabin. Which means my wife or I would have to "escort" him. Would a plane ticket be reimbursed if one of us fly there and back?
Thanks in advance!
