Snowed In

Hey all, I am in need of some reassurance that I am doing the right thing. I am a live in nanny(i rent from them), and this past weekend I stayed with my friend ~30min away from the house. All day yesterday we got crazy amounts of snow, I drove on the roads around my friends in her car (that does better than mine) and we were skidding everywhere. I ended up having to stay the night. This morning when I woke up to leave for work I noticed I was blacked in by a snow bank taller than my car. I texted NPs, explaining it wasn’t safe for me to drive back last night and now this morning I am completely blocked in, but would come in as soon as we get plowed out, MB texted me back saying “okay,keep us updated!” 30 minutes later I got a call from DB with MB, basically just asking about how snowed in I was, and DB seemed pretty annoyed. There is literally nothing I can do about this, but with DB being annoyed I am worried I should have handled it differently. Nanny’s what would you have done? NPs, what would you expect your nanny to do?
