Among the games in the modern trilogy, P4 is considered the least "impactful" of them by ATLUS and fans?

Don't get me wrong. I love this game, I have an emotional attachment to it, and it was the first title in the franchise that I played and finished. That said, I feel like P4 feels a bit out of place between P3 and P5, precisely because these games represent the pinnacle of the franchise.

P3 not only started the series as we know it, but it also popularized the series, especially in the West, and according to many, it was the game that saved ATLUS from bankruptcy. P5 pretty much did what P3 did, but multiplied by ten, it broke the bubble in an insane way and must have increased ATLUS' credibility a lot.

I see people saying that at the time it was released, P4 was quite popular (mainly because of the memes of the silly detective) but it doesn't seem to have had the impact that P3 and P5 caused, which makes it feel a bit out of place between those two games.
