NISS Process

I wanted to ask for advice. First, a bit of context regarding my current situation in Portugal. I arrived on a Job Seeker visa a month ago, and I currently have two job offers. After signing a contract with one of the companies, they requested my NISS number, which I don’t have yet. I needed to have the contract in hand to apply for it, which I did last Friday.

Unfortunately, the company was unaware that I didn’t have my NISS, so they moved my start date to next Monday, hoping I would receive it this week. Meanwhile, I’ve received another offer, and they are drafting the contract, but I anticipate they will also request my NISS soon.

Both positions require someone to start as soon as possible, and I'm concerned that the NISS processing time could take longer than expected (I've heard it can take up to a month) which might cause me to lose both opportunities.

Is there anything I can do to expedite the process or plead my case? I’ve tried reaching out to the Segurança Social office, but it’s been impossible to get through.
