Is college track worth it ?

As a rising junior, college track has been into something I’ve been looking into. Recently, I’ve seen a lot of people say college track isn’t fun and it’s more like a job/chore than a hobby. How true is this? Does it depend on the program? Does anyone have any personal good or bad experiences with college track they could share ?And any specific programs that they really liked or disliked. I know a lot of this is personal opinion, but I’d still like to hear people’s thoughts.
