Pretty new player here, stuck on what to upgrade next

Hey all,

Started playing last week and my PB is T9 wave 46. I get around 5 million coins/run. Is it worth it saving up for super critical hits? or spend my coins on upgrading in the workshop and trying to get higher tiers.
