Recovery after DNF

Last weekend I DNF'd my first attempt at 100mi, on a very gnarly and technical course after "only" 54mi. Over half the starters DNF'd, so I'm managing not to beat myself up too bad. In retrospect, failure was almost all in my head and in chatting with others, I could/should have pulled through and continued on. So many great lessons learned!

Question is ... what does recovery look like after finishing only half the distance I trained for? I have a solid base and nailed every training run in the 24wk 80/20 plan (maybe it was too easy?). There's a sweet sounding 100miler in 4 weeks that's much less technical... am I as crazy as my husband thinks for wanting to take a crack at it?
