Girl who believes she was mcs Knight in their previous life

Ai and Google have been less than helpful.

It's an older Anime that has two main characters one that's a rough looking high-school guy who lives alone, the other a girl who believes she was his Knight in their previous life, she has a normal little sister as well. There are a number of dangerous people in the series (violent, horroresque types), who try to hurt him or kill him (some do hurt him before knight girl steps in each time).

Story is set in normal seeming Japanese town and high-school, besides the girl believing she's his reincarnated Knight there are no fantasy or sci-fi elements.

Also had a manga, can't recall or find that either, the anime may have been a short series. Definitely a serious anime, seinen not shounen.
