Does anyone have any experience of breastfeeding and taking cocodamol?

I was under the impression I cannot be taking codeine while breastfeeding.

I'm currently 38w+4 and would like to collect some collustrum before I go into labour, and was gearing myself up to stop taking my cocodamol prescription.

I mentioned this at my midwife appointment yesterday and my midwife said that the dangers of codeine in breast milk were minimal and only recently have been advised against. She also said that codeine was often given to mothers just after birth and recovering from a csection.

Her advice was to just continue taking my cocodamol prescription and attempt to collect some collustrum as planned.

Does anyone else have any experience with this?
