Need [help] for my first project.

Hi yall, im just starting out cosplaying and I've decided to go big or go home. I'm trying to make Reinhardt from over watch, not only because hes cool, but my name has a similarity with his.

I tried making some home made stilts for him and can seem to keep the back foot down, anyone have any experience building stuff like this all help is appreciated
