Mass growing lettuce, tips?

Hello. So my sister has guinea pigs and a large part of there diet is various kinds of lettuce. I'm starting a garden soon so I figured I might as well try to grow a bunch of lettuce for them.

I live in semi-central Florida, so it'll probably be to hot to grow lettuce in a month so I'll be attempting it inside. Any tips?
