How would you revitalize this Pachysandra?

These Pachysandra beds around my patio used to be very full and green. They are looking rough as we head into spring. Not 100% sure on what caused this, but think it may have been a combination of leaves from the fall crowding the beds, drought conditions in fall/winter, and my large breed dog laying in the beds. I avoided using rock salt on the patio and walkway over the winter as I did not want to damage the beds. How would you go about bringing these beds back to life? Should I transplant some extra from other beds?
