BPD:

Tech took vitals on a baby in our ER. Comes to me afterwards, “ How’s that baby already diagnosed with bipolar disorder?” It took me a minute longer than I’d like to admit to realize the tech got bipolar from BPD, then I told them, “ This BPD is for bronchopulmonary dysplasia cause they were in the NICU.” We got a laugh out of that, but it made me wonder what other abbreviations have you seen attributed to something else?
