Heavy Bleeding with rising HCG levels

I tested positive at 4 weeks but then 2 days after my missed period I started bleeding very heavy for about 4 days(almost mimicking my normal period). It has now been 8 days and I have very light brown discharge like 2-3 times a day. My HCG levels started at 25 the day I was bleeding but have been over doubling every 48 hours. In 3 days it jumped to 187. I am now told to wait a week before I check my levels again and to get an ultrasound. I have fatigue and bloating but no other symptoms as I am still considered really early. I am curious if this has happened to anyone who had successful pregnancies? Trying to stay calm but it obviously consumes my thoughts.
