incel discourse just makes things worse

like back in the day people were just called nerds, losers, virgins, but now they get labelled with this incredibly confusing doublespeak term that lumps depressed adults with no romantic experiences with misogynistic domestic terrorists. most people who struggle to get laid already have low self esteem and the whole discourse now increases the pressure they feel with the addendum of 'oh and also people who can't get laid are suspected evil murderers'. not to mention that it just is way easier for people to be socially isolated these days and there's no systems in place to help people out of that. the whole thing feels more like a socially acceptable way to punch down sometimes
