Devoutly Christian coworker implies I shouldn't wear modest dress
I just find this sooooo funny and had to share. She doesn't make comments too often, but has dropped little hints that she thinks I should "show off" more (even once recommending a tight pencil skirt for my "nice bum"). It was warm this weekend so I came in wearing a dress barely above knee w a cardigan and she acted like it was a revolution. "Now you're dressing like a young lady! None of that down to your ankles stuff!" MIND YOU, she is a DEVOUT Christian, almost can't talk about anything BUT Jesus, and I'm about to turn 34 (I look very young, and I think many ppl like her forget they're younger than me)! So it was just baffling on all fronts! Does she think modesty should only be for the grandmas at her church or of the other religions in our area? That as a young-looking agnostic, I should be obligated to dress wild and free?
Any other secular friends here ever get told by a religious person that they shouldn't adhere to modesty, or that their preferred dress makes them look old? I could only laugh honestly.
