Please recommend me books based on my last 2 reads (Lonesome Dove and 11/22/63)

Hi all, I hope you can help me with some recommendations with my next book. So what did I like about my last two books:

• both books were about a journey, the places were changing a lot and it was in America (I am from Europe but I like small town America and the vast landscapes of the US more)

• the characters: i really cared for them and that is very rare.

• especially what I liked about 11/22/63: it had the page-turner factor. It was my first King book and I liked how plot driven he wrote the book. He doesn‘t waste a lot pages on describing a tree for example :)
