Told my 3y I was a Witch...
My 3y old came out of her room last night crying that she was afraid of the dark. Natural and normal. Hell, I get afraid of the dark sometimes still. I calmly cradled her on the floor and told her that it was completely fine to feel afraid, fear helps us stay safe. She was still crying, and I didn't know if she was listening or not, but I kept my tone level. I asked her," You know Mama is a Witch, right?" She looked at me and said "no sniffle I didn't."
And idk exactly why I said this, but it just came out, " I am a Witch, and Darkness is my friend. Darkness is your friend, too." She cried for about a minute more and asked if she could have the night light turned on. As I was leaving the room, I heard her saying good night to the Darkness. She fell asleep soon after.
I felt this urge to say that (about Darkness being my friend), and idk if it came from the universe or childhood trauma or what. I mostly just wanted to share and maybe get some feedback on what this experience could have meant.
Edit: Thank you, everyone, for all your feedback and support!
